The Role

Mountain West Mechanical is a medium sized mechanical contractor specializing in commercial, institutional, and healthcare projects. Currently we are seeking journey-person plumbers and gas fitters to join our team. We complete a wide range of projects from small washroom upgrades to complex healthcare heating/cooling systems and medical gas systems. This unique opportunity is perfect for candidates seeking a variety of work across multiple industry types.

Responsibilities

• Reading and interpreting drawings/blueprints

• Organizing and managing materials

• Liaise with customers

• Comfortable working as part of a team and on your own

• Install and maintain plumbing, heating and gas systems

• Provide guidance to apprentices

• Safely secure and maintain company tools

• Follow safe work protocols (WorksafeBC, Safety program(s), etc.)

• Transportation to the jobsite

Requirements

• Previous experience in plumbing and heating installations and repairs;
• Able to work well independently as well as part of a team;
• Good written and oral communication skills as well as basic computer/mobile skills;
• Able to complete work with a high level of quality in a timely manner;
• Customer service skills and a professional manner when dealing with co-workers, clients, suppliers, and other trades;
• Owns basic hand tools and electronic equipment;
• Completion of 2nd-level apprenticeship program (minimum);
• Cross connection certification (preferred);
• Valid Class 5 or 7 driver’s license and reliable transportation;
